Goodbye, My Beloved Lucy
A few days ago, I had to send Lucy to the Rainbow Bridge, because she could no longer walk at all. You see, besides being blind, she had such serious spinal problems. For her last two days, I had to carry her around in a nice, padded sling. But then I twisted my back and shoulder while carrying her, which crippled me, too. She was in such pain, and I was so helpless in the face of it. She went to Heaven very peacefully as I held her so snuggly, and whispered how much I loved her and didnt want her to suffer like that any longer, scraping her dragging paws, and being so incapacitated . . . it just broke my heart. Our blind Lucy touched the hearts of many.
My friend, Chris Dowd, who flew out here last year to visit, really loved Lucy. She bitterly regretted being unable to adopt her. Shes taken her death hard, will miss her very much, and says Farewell! Along with Chris's farewell I, too, want her to be free and soar above the earths pain. Oh! Goodbye, my precious Lucy girl!
